About Us
Gadsden City Alternative School serves all secondary schools in the Gadsden City School system. Students attending GCAS live within Gadsden’s city limits. Gadsden City Alternative School offers students and the Gadsden City School system an alternative to the traditional school setting. GCAS offers a compensatory program that addresses the comprehensive needs of all students. Gadsden City Alternative school offers an accelerated path to graduation through the Second Chance program. The alternative school also assists 11th and 12th grade students with job/career placement goals.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN MARCH 9th- APRIL 30th, 2026
If you have a kindergarten student that will be enrolling for the 2026-2027 school year, please visit the following link to apply: https://tinyurl.com/gcskreg
The online registration link is a form to apply for enrollment. Submitting does not guarantee or complete your student’s enrollment. Enrollment is only guaranteed for students that reside in the Gadsden City school district and its respective school zones. Limited space is available for students that live outside of the Gadsden City limits. Enrollment for those students is determined via lottery upon receipt of all documents for registration. If you are unsure of the zone in which you live, please refer to the Gadsden City Schools zone map on the school system website here.

The following documents are required to complete registration on that day:
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Parent(s) photo IDs
- 2 Proofs of residency (address must match ID)
- 1 must be proof of property (deed, lease, property tax statements, etc)
- 1 must be a utility bill (gas, water, or power only)
- Immunization records
